YUYA SAKAKI UN: FUNDIRECTION

BIO: Hello! You can call me Yuya. I'm from Sendai, Japan. This is my second year in Daybreak Academy. I'm a Tamer, and Odd-Eyes is my familiar. He's the big red dragon that hangs out in the courtyards. He's friendly but he tries to steal food sometimes. I speak Japanese and English but not very good French. I'm also in the theater club. I'm in Lumiere 203. Let's be friends!

[..............................] ............Yuuya?

... [Abruptly, Gongenzaka appears to have a fairly anxious thought.] ...I, the man Gongenzaka... ...think it may be wise to ask one of our teachers...perhaps, one of the daemonic ones, about something...

[........] Specifically... ...You say that it has been 'a long time' yes?

[He grimaces, as if he already knows why that likely is.]

I've been... talking to Professor Valvatorez. He thinks it's Zarc, too, and Serena saw one of his memories. So, it has to be...

[Well, if they already thought Zarc was in Yuya, then it stands to reason that the memory Serena saw certainly came from him. He has the Demon King possessing him, and that's why he can't relax and accept 'maybe nothing will happen'. He was a monster.]

[...........................Deep breaths.]

.......Yuuya. I, the man Gongenzaka, have an idea, [He begins, swallowing.] However... ...Yuuya. I, the man Gongenzaka must ask- can you trust me, and stay here, and allow me to then ask Professor Valvatorez at your side, to see what he thinks of it himself?

[Because if Yuuya ran away once... ...

Well, at least it's Professor Valvatorez that was already involved. That makes things a bit easier at least.]

[Ah--Yuya pushes further against the wall, averting his gaze shamefully.] I can do it. I'm not going to run away again.

[He won't make Gongenzaka solve this for him. That's a terrible thing to put on his shoulders.]

[In turn, Gongenzaka tries to give what he hopes is a reassuring squeeze.] Then...

...At the time, I, the man Gongenzaka...did not think much of this. Other than one person in fact, those I spoke to did not either...

But in the battle of 'Zarc', it was noted that a 'small fragment' was missing from their soul. If...that is correct, and if then, you were born sometime after...

[It was after all, before they were born.] ...I, the man Gongenzaka, feel we should ask the Professor what that specifically would mean. A full daemon is one matter...but perhaps this way, there is something that can be done for you!

[He just......... ...He wants things to be alright.]

[He wants everything to be all right, but Yuya can't assure that. He almost regrets bringing it up, because he knew he'd have to talk about it. But he still doesn't know enough, has spent five days running himself in mental circles about it.]

... I'm sorry, Gongenzaka.

[That he's such a burden. That now Gongenzaka is going to have this weighing on his mind, and Yuya can't make it better.]

S..

...why..?

[He is quiet to start- but then a little louder.] Why? Why are you sorry? To ask another for help, to share your troubles with another...Why is that a thing to be sorry for? [he proclaims, shaking his head.] Is it not the right thing to do, to seek others out? Is it not the better thing to do, to take care of oneself?

Why should you be sorry, for a thing that will help you? [he insists.] When to help you, and to see you happy, is something that I, the man Gongenzaka...and indeed, many others who know you, would want for you!

No, I mean--[Yuya shakes his head firmly.] I'm sorry it's a problem to begin with.

And did you choose for it to be a problem? [He insists further.] Did you say, 'I should have this occur, so that a problem may follow'?

Yuuya. ...We do not ask for these things to occur, and we do not ask for the troubles which we face. But Yuuya...To take the aid of another, or even to confess trouble to another, is nothing to apologize for- do you understand?

[~~if only he would take his own advice more~~]

Okay. [That's not exactly what he's apologizing for, but he's not going to try walking around the specifics. He's guilty and tired and scared and uncertain.

He wishes this wasn't happening. Worrying about Nightfall had been enough.]

Right! [Well...at least Gongenzaka is a little more lively now? He stands, and offers his own hand to Yuuya from there only to pause.] ...I, the man Gongenzaka, would ask if we should find the Professor now...

...But do you need time, Yuuya?

[Just...to breathe really, and shake off the last number of days that have likely weighed down.]

I... [Yuya almost takes his hand, looking up. But the exhaustion is etched deep in his face and he just doesn't feel strong enough. He's not strong enough.

There are tears before he can think about them. It's overwhelming on top of everything else, desperately trying to push through everything only to have something start to strangle his heart and endanger everything that matters to him.]

Y-Yuu-

[Carefully, and even gently, Gongenzaka pulls the other up but pulls him into a hug. Not a crushing one like he was greeted with. A softer one, as he finds himself lost on what words to say.

So he simply stands there, arms around the other, in the quiet.]

[Yuya starts to sob, limp in Gongenzaka's arms without the energy to do much else. It's just so much, getting worse instead of better. He'd thought he'd run out of tears in Lyon, but apparently not.]

[And Gongenzaka... ...Gongenzaka will give him that time. Carefully holding the other close, one hand idly rubbing the back of Yuuya's head. He can't find words to help- but he can at least find the motions that might, and so he'll do so as long as the other needs.]

[It's a few minutes before Yuya manages to compose himself again, moving to wipe his face dry with his hands. What a mess...]

[And still Gongenzaka says nothing, at least not until Yuuya is absolutely moving. When that happens, he eases on the hug for the other's sake, waiting for the right moment to speak.]

Will you be alright...Yuuya..?

... Yeah. [Or at least, he says he will be even if he doesn't feel like it. At least not to stress Gongenzaka out even more, right now he'll be all right.] I will, I just--it's a lot.

Aauh. ...If it means much at all... ...you are very strong, to carry the weight of it, [he insists quietly.] It seems like more than I, the man Gongenzaka can imagine.

[Yuya pulls up a small smile, drawing back. They'll see how strong he is when it's actually tested.]

... Did anything happen after I left? [Anything else he needs to worry about, he might as well stress about it now.]

Mnnh...after...

I, the man Gongenzaka, would say not- those strange orbs in fact vanished the last day you were here, or at least had vanished by the evening...

Oh--that's good. [He rubs the side of his neck, glancing sideways.] That was pretty uncomfortable.

A-Auuh, I, the man Gongenzaka imagine so... [He rubs the back of his neck, wondering how he should mention the one he saw.] I myself did not find any of my memories scattered so...

...

Or at least, I do not think so...

[oh no]

I didn't find any. But they all scattered so quickly, it's not like I could tell how many of them got out.

Mnnhhh...but they were memories all the same...

[.....

....Awwww gee.] ...I, the man Gongenzaka...

...do think I may have found, one however... [he mutters, glancing to the side as his face heats up.]
