BIO: Hello! You can call me Yuya. I'm from Sendai, Japan. This is my second year in Daybreak Academy. I'm a Tamer, and Odd-Eyes is my familiar. He's the big red dragon that hangs out in the courtyards. He's friendly but he tries to steal food sometimes. I speak Japanese and English but not very good French. I'm also in the theater club. I'm in Lumiere 203. Let's be friends!

[ Ugh........... Having Yuya sit on him until the end of time doesn't seem like a bad idea, compared to having to admit anything out loud. He can't even make up answers??? Well, he can, but like. Hmm. ]

I like that she goes out of the way for people, even out of her comfort zone... that she indulges me in whatever I want, and doesn't stay mad when I tease her. ...I like that she doesn't give up on me, and... It's comfortable being around her?? Something like that???

[If Yuya takes a wild guess, he'll bet Kano's blushing under his illusions. How cute--it's a lot of things he does for Kano too, though he trusts Nana to draw a harder line if necessary and that's why he's not worried about Kano taking advantage of her. Even if it's similar, Yuya knows there's something special in the way that Nana does it that he takes a much heavier feeling from it than if Kano were talking about him. She's graceless, the way she's there for people.

He reaches to ruffle Kano's hair with a laugh, expression as once going back to his usual perkiness as he slides off on Kano and lets him have his stomach back.] She's pretty great, isn't she? Ah, I think I'll stay with number five this time.

[suddenlybees]

[ The same things he loves about Nana can be said about all his friends to some degree. They're too nice to him, they try too hard for him, they don't give up on him and he's the one who gets mad every time that happens, and— in the end, maybe the most important point is that last one- they're people he's comfortable with. Lord knows he's never had people he felt comfortable with. Safe with. He wants to hang onto that. ]

Oh thank god, I thought you'd make me talk on and on because surely that's not all I could say about her—- aah, but no take backs, no take backs!! [ He remains lying on the ground, though he does roll over onto his side so he can see the dice. ]

Last one was just a fluke, so three it is!

I'm not evil... I'd only do that to you if you did it to me first.

[Shake shake goes the dice. It's two more rounds, and then another pair of threes.]

... But don't get any ideas.

[ ...haha. Alright, alright, here's something more self-indulgent, then: ]

I want to hear about all the things you love about me! All of them!! Don't leave any out~

Eh? [All the things he loves about Kano? Yuya's eyes flutter as he looks at Kano with surprise, for a moment, before a faint smile tugs at his lips and he turns his head forward, away from Kano, then looks up at the ceiling. All the things he loves about him, huh...]

I like that I can be so stupid with you, playing games and being able to joke around--it's easy. You'll do whatever it takes for your most important people, but I think you could make anybody feel amazing. You're clever, you won't give up on what matters to you no matter how hard. You're funny and fun, but when you can't be that's okay too. And I like when you share yourself with me, because... with you, I never feel like I'm not good enough. Like I'm not alone, being like this, and it's okay. I feel okay.

[suddenlybees]

[ If he didn't feel like dying before, he sure does not, feeling the heat rise at the back of his neck and he's stunned for a moment and even forgets to record this on his phone, just in case he can use it somewhere, somehow. Maybe it's better this way, so he never has to hear it again. ]

Okay, I'm going to object to most of that?? But in particular that past part!! Yuya!!!! You're more than "okay," you know that, right???

[ He gestures vaguely to the dice and the paper in front of them— who's the one who comes up with fun games like this?? who jokes around with him and makes it so comfortable to play games with- to actually laugh and not have it feel so forced even though he's still doing it. With Yuya, it's got to be more than "okay" ]

[Yuya laughs, then, for a moment filling the silence only with that before he tilts his head and turns to look at Kano with a warm smile.]

I know you're going to, because what Kano sees are all the things I should hate, and not the things I love. [Much like Yuya has a hard time believing in the things that are good about him, buried under everything he thinks is awful.]

If you think I'm more than okay, too, I'm glad! Because I really like you and I want to keep being friends.

[suddenlybees]

[ This is all very touching and everything, but unfortunately, Kano is Kano. ]

.........I have a terrible idea and you're not allowed to say no.

... What's the idea?

[suddenlybees]

[ Get ready for this. ] I'm going to be you, until you love yourself~!! [ In a blink Yuya will find himself looking at... himself. THIS IS HOW IT'S GOING TO BE. If Yuya can see all the good in Kano's actions, but can't see the same in his own, then all Kano's got to do is be Yuya until his mind can accept two and two equals four, they're the same and they're both passably good people!! That was the thought process. Instead, "I'm going to be you until you love yourself" probably sounds a little threatening, like Yuya had better learn to love himself before Kano!Yuya goes out there and does all those questionable things regular Yuya wouldn't. ]

Eh--[Yuya stares dumbly at... himself. And then reaches to touch Kano's face and hair, because holy shit is this a trip. It's not like a mirror at all.] Wait a minute, what do you mean 'until I love myself'?

[suddenlybees]

[ I just remembered that this probably reminds Yuya more of that reflection in his Kagerou hell that dragged him into the pool than anything else, but. Kano doesn't know this. ] Hey, hey, let go, let go...! It means what it means! Until you love yourself!!! [ Kano doesn't know what loving oneself means either, okay? But Yuya's smart, he can figure it out. ]

How is wearing my face going to make me love myself?! [He pulls on Kano's cheeks before drawing his hands back. It even feels like him, this is so weird.]

[suddenlybees]

Figure it out??? [ That's really helpful, yeah. As soon as he's let go, Kano sits back down, grinning up at Yuya. ] You like me no matter what I look like, right? Sooooo... this is the same thing!!! [ It really isn't. ]

[hippocarnival]

This is weird... [He tilts this way and that.] Sure, I'll accept you, but I like your face more. Why can't I just say nice things about you?

[Why did giving Kano what he asked for turn around to being about Yuya??]

[suddenlybees]

[ Because that's how it'll always end up, if Kano gets his way; it'll always turn back on the other person. ] It's too bad, 'cause I like your face more than mine~ You're not allowed to say nice things about me until you love yourself! That'll be my IOU!! [ It'll be an instance like this that he uses it, I guess, something that'll otherwise be impossible. But Yuya said it himself: anything Kano wants, no backing out. ]

[I can't believe Kano is going to immediately spend his IOU on trying to boost Yuya's confidence.

Yuya huffs.] I don't know how we're supposed to judge that!

[suddenlybees]

[ This is important, and a much better use of an IOU than like... making somebody go out and get him french fries when he's too lazy to leave his room someday. ] I'll judge that~ Until I'm satisfied with how much you love yourself, so do your best, Yu~ya~ I wonder how long it'll take you? Aah, I'll be let out of the dorm over the week to go to class, I bet that'll be fun~ [ It's turning into a threat. ]

Whoa, whoa, you're not leaving this room like that! [Not with his face! Not when he knows how Yuya feels about Gon!!]

[suddenlybees]

[ He has that voice recording and everything, not that Yuya knows. Kano wouldn't even have to change his voice to spout out all of that, it'd be a real mess if he were to accidentally play his recording nearby Gon's open window someday... That'll be the plan if Yuya doesn't shape up and love himself already. ] It'll be fine, it'll be fine~ I've got countermeasures in place for that! Nobody will see two of us!

That's not the problem! [Actually, that'd be easier because then Yuya could make it clear to them that Shit Is Up.] How about you give me a reason to love myself before you terrorize everyone with my face!

[And like, make him run away to hide in the woods instead.]

[suddenlybees]

[ Yuya wouldn't dare run away and hide in the woods; what if Kano tries to talk with Gon? He absolutely would and Yuya knows this. ] Heh~ That's something you need to figure out for yourself, Yu~ya! All those things you love about other people- and there's a lot of things!! I need you to look at yourself and find those sorts of things too~ [ He pats Yuya on the shoulder, enjoying the stark contrast in their expressions just as much as I am. ] Why don't you start by asking other people what they love about you? I don't count, 'cause I'm easy mode!

[Consider: He doesn't have to confront the consequences of Kano telling Gon if nobody can find him.]

You can't just go around asking people what they like about you! And why are you easy mode?! What about loving yourself?!

[ lmfao is that really better though ] You can totally ask people what they like about yourself?? I asked you, didn't I? [ He ignores those other questions. He's easy mode because he doesn't want to talk about how much he loves Yuya, and lmao what is loving himself. We're talking about Yuya right now, not him, don't turn this back on him. ]
