BIO: Hello! You can call me Yuya. I'm from Sendai, Japan. This is my second year in Daybreak Academy. I'm a Tamer, and Odd-Eyes is my familiar. He's the big red dragon that hangs out in the courtyards. He's friendly but he tries to steal food sometimes. I speak Japanese and English but not very good French. I'm also in the theater club. I'm in Lumiere 203. Let's be friends!

...We were to shop together, with another...and...Toki, as it seemed, was the other...

[He stares toward the floor, quiet.] ...I, the man Gongenzaka, shamefully acted as if I were not one he knew, as he did not recognize me at first...but when he did, he cried, and shouted, until he could no longer breathe.

...Orihime-san...carried him to the infirmary, and insisted upon doing so alone. ...In case he awoke, and saw me again.

[....ah.]

[... Ah. It was Toki. Yuya chews his lip, brow furrowing as he recalls how badly Toki handled even asking about Gon's lycanthropy that night. Evidently that wasn't a one time thing.]

I'm sorry. [Yuya reaches to put his hand over Gon's, reassuring.] It's... you've never had someone react this badly before. I don't really know what to do, either.

[betheman]

[There is a mute nod- and slowly, he turns.] ...He is...

...He is seeing someone, yes? ...if this is how he reacts to myself...

...I am not the only lycan, here...

[hippocarnival]

I... don't know. [It's true though that Gon is far from the only lycan, and what are they going to do if Toki is devolving into screams when faced with any other student of faculty?] He said before he didn't want to talk about it, when I told him about the counselors. I don't think he's really let it out at all?

[betheman]

Mng...not at all..?! That...

Surely, he does not believe that can last..!

[hippocarnival]

It happened recently, I think? So maybe it's still hard, but... [Yuya rubs the back of his neck, uncertain.]

It has to be really hurting him inside, and... he needs help dealing with it.

[Yuya's been in a state of needing that help, and he'll always advocate what really did make a difference for him in the long run.]

[betheman]

...perhaps you can ask?

I tried to. But maybe I should try when he's a little calmer. [Maybe immediately after a second freakout isn't the best time to advise someone to get come therapy.]

Is Orihime still going to make you a suit?

[betheman]

By now, it has been a few days at least...more than that however, if he is still in that state by February...

Auh. [He pauses, and jumps.] Auh...s..suit or no suit Yuuya, that is not the primary concern! [He lowers his voice to a whisper.] Yuuya...apparently, the seers foresaw an attack upon the ball...it is continuing, so that we can have the advantage...

But it is still a serious matter...!

[hippocarnival]

Eh? [Yuya leans in closer to hear his whispering, lowering his voice in turn. He doesn't know why they're whispering because they're alone in the bus to Soleil, but that's how it's going now.]

It's getting attacked this year? [Yuya pauses.] But if the dance is still going on, it means they didn't see anything too terrible happening, right?

[betheman]

No- what it means is that it is better for us to know what is coming, than to allow them to replan and strike unexpectedly.

The dance will be attacked by daemons- and we must be ready...and more than that, we cannot risk faltering or entering shock to that extent.

[And look the bus driver counts as another person Yuuya.]

[hippocarnival]

[The bus driver has probably been through enough attacks working for the school.]

But it's not just a trap, right? There's still going to be the actual dance? [He's pretty sure the seers wouldn't endanger them with a dance if they thought this attack was something they wouldn't be able to handle.] Are they going to announce something?

[betheman]

Mnh, there will be a dance first, presumably...

I, the man Gongenzaka, cannot say if there will be an announcement however. I only know, due to what Orihime said.

[hippocarnival]

... So you still need a suit. [Yuya grins playfully.] Let's wait until they actually have a plan before we worry too much about a bunch of daemons. The school is not going to let us get murdered at the Valentine's Day ball.

[betheman]

NGAH-

THAT! That is not the point you should get from this!! What about Toki!!

[hippocarnival]

[Yuya leans back, bringing his voice back to normal volume.] I'm going to talk to Toki, but that's a different situation than the dance.

[Yuya pauses, then shifts awkwardly.] I don't think daemons are the same kind of problem for him.

[betheman]

No, but any lycan who will be fighting the daemons will be a more worrying image than one serving tea, I should imagine..!

[...Point.]

[hippocarnival]

Like you. [He knows Gon is going to fight the daemons.] It's still two different problems, they just might happen at the same time. I'm not going to wait until the dance to talk to Toki about it.

[And ultimately, they can't force him into anything either.] But you're focusing on him so much because you feel responsible for it, right?

[betheman]

...

.... [Yep. He looks away.]

...he claimed it was not my doing...and then broke into a fit of screaming, before passing out entirely.

...what am I to think...Yuuya?

[hippocarnival]

... I think you're too hard on yourself. [Which isn't new, coming from Yuya, but evidently it bears repeating.] There's so much more to you than being the poster child of a good werebear.

[He's not responsible for the injuries every lycan causes, and yet he continues to carry that whole burden on his back. He's one person.]

[betheman]

....What we say and think does not seem to have bearing on that, however.

[But...he recognizes this is going nowhere. So...]

You will...make sure he sees someone, then? [he says softly.] ...I know, we cannot force another, but...

For someone that I, the man Gongenzaka, have been trying to avoid...

[hippocarnival]

I can't force him to do anything. But I can recommend it. [Yuya reaches for Gon's hand again, holding it in both of his.] Just... remember whether he decides to get help or not, that's not on you okay?

[betheman]

[There is a sigh...but he does nod. So here's hoping.] Auh.

...Understood.

[hippocarnival]

[Yuya's touch lingers a second longer than it has to before he lets go. He knows they'll have this same conversation again, and his heart sinks that he can't talk Gongenzaka through his problems, either. But he's not giving up on his friend. Maybe next time, he'll have better words to say.

When the bus comes to a stop Yuya stands up first.] All right! Let's go get breakfast.

[betheman]

[There is always next time- and at the least, breakfast is a good distraction. He sits up with a jolt, and moves to follow the other, nodding.] Mnh- Right!
