BIO: Hello! You can call me Yuya. I'm from Sendai, Japan. This is my second year in Daybreak Academy. I'm a Tamer, and Odd-Eyes is my familiar. He's the big red dragon that hangs out in the courtyards. He's friendly but he tries to steal food sometimes. I speak Japanese and English but not very good French. I'm also in the theater club. I'm in Lumiere 203. Let's be friends!

[Yuya looks up, leaning over to inspect the bracelet--without touching it.] Why do you want to block your powers?

Uhh.

[Does he really need to explain why?]

Because they suck!? You've seen what happens! I was going to use it on the mission tomorrow, but then I have the Cassandra thing Friday and I'd have to start all over for cumulative data, so I think I'll start it Saturday, so I have a few weeks to make notes~! You don't have to like actually do anything, like just let me know if I'm acting weird or something seems off or whatever because I don't really know what it's going to do, hence experiment! But! If it works, then I won't have to worry about screwing something up on a mission or a field trip or like, I can go to classes sometimes or take the finals without thinking I'm going to interrupt everything and just... I don't know. Maybe it's stupid, is it stupid!? I just want to like get through a week without-

[He can't articulate it, but this is definitely a good idea for... reasons.]

[Yuya slowly raises his hands, trying to eae Toki to calm down a little.]

Okay, okay! I'll let you know if you start acting weird.

[It doesn't seem conductive to Toki mastering his illusions, but Yuya also can't blame him for not wanting to deal with it all the time.]

[Yuya's doing that hand thing again; which Toki has started interpreting as something akin to a warning sign he's coming off too agitated. He takes a few deep breaths and tries to push away any nervous thoughts. He puts the bracelet back in the box shoves it aside.]

Sorry. So, how did your birthday trip go?

[It's been almost two weeks and he'd never bothered to ask.]

[Yuya looks up, a little surprised.] Oh... it was fun!

[he straightens up, rubbing the back of his neck. Will Toki feel left out if he details it too much? He's a little unsure.] Yeah, I was really glad I went through with it, everyone enjoyed themselves.

I'm glad you had fun~!

[He doesn't feel left out at all, and does not regret his decision to stay.]

Kano said someone threw up and someone got lost and someone went to jail! I don't believe the last part, though! Maybe; it depends on who went! Did you get any good presents!?

Uh--I don't think anyone went to jail? [That was probably a joke... probably.] Well, none of us went to jail.

[He perks up, holding his wrist out so Toki can see the star and banana etched wooden bracelet.] I did! Nana gave me this bracelet, and Gongenzaka gave me a cool painting and a stuffed otter.

[The bananas are obvious. Toki figures he stars represent Yuya, since he has stars on his goggles.]

That's cute~! Did she make it herself?

[He's seen the otter around, but didn't associate it with a birthday present. As for the painting...]

I didn't know Gongenzaka was an artist! He doesn't seem the type! He's so... like... you know...

[He can't explain Gongenzaka. He doesn't want to say 'warrior' type, because that's not exactly what he means, but he thinks of Gongenzaka as more of a physical hobbies guy.]

She had it custom made. [But that doesn't change anything for him. She had to think of the idea after all.]

I guess Gongenzaka doesn't talk about his hobbies, much... but he's really good, I'll show you!

[Yuya ducks underst hits bed to grab the picture off the desk and hold it out to Toki. He's probably seen it already, the kanji for smile blended with a watercolor of an otter.]

He's smart and he's got a lot of skills. His family really values being studious?

[And Toki hasn't talked to Gongenzaka enough to discuss hobbies at all. Toki had indeed seen the picture, but not really looked at it beyond a glance. Now he examines it more closely.]

He painted that!? He's really good!

[He disagrees that Gongenzaka is smart, but that's based mostly on Toki's inability to comprehend him.]

I didn't think of it like that; the dojo stuff! I guess it's like.... disciplined or whatever and that's kind of studious I suppose!

[He doesn't really have much to say on Gongenzaka, but Yuya appears to enjoy the topic.]

[Gon doesn't tend to admit to hobbies or fun to anyone, which Yuya thinks is a shame. Maybe he should push him to join the art club...

Yuya grins wider.] That's right! It's all about discipline, and I guess exercising their mind and not just their body? Especially for controlling themselves, but I think Gongenzaka also just likes it. He made a really decorative chocolate heart for Valentine's Day too, he's really good!

Controlling themselves; like... the bear thing?

[He didn't know it was a lycanthrope dojo. But he laughs at imagining the chocolate heart, something he'd never associate with Gongenzaka.]

Haha, I guess everyone has hidden depths~! I can't see him making elaborate candy!

[Yuya nods.] Yeah, to control their lycanthropism better so they don't end up dangerous. Since there's no cure, you have to learn to live with it...

[He sets the picture back on his desk before pulling out his phone, navigating to a photo of the chocolate before holding it to Toki to see. It's a milk chocolate heart, with white chocolate used to create an art of sakura flowers and stars around Yuya's name in kanji. The design is definitely traditional.] It was like a painting on the chocolate! But I don't think he'd work with candy often, like Nana cooks.

[He's still awkward about things related to Gongenzaka's lycanthropy, because he'd reacted so intensely to it and never really apologized.]

That's um... I'm glad it helps him.

[Toki appreciates the immediate distraction of the chocolate heart photo. It's simplistic, but would still require talent and patience to achieve.]

It looks like he wanted to make you something special~! You're really good friends, aren't you? I'm sorry I kind of... dismiss him so much.

[Yuya laughs, a faint blush creeping up his face.]

It's more like he's the good friend. [Better than that, even.] Anyway, you had something terrible happen so... I don't blame you if that makes it hard for you to see him right now.

[Yuya's gaze drifts down lowering his phone.] I just hope you can believe when I say he's not like that. Gongenzaka... he knows what he looks like.

[What he thinks he could be. A monster.]

[Toki doesn't see him as a monster; and he's even managed to forgive the werewolf more or less, preferring to believe it wasn't an intentional malicious act.]

I know he's not. I tried to tell him that, when we were with Orihime, but that, uh... Ha, that didn't work out~!

[He hasn't encountered Gongenzaka in person since. He also just doesn't like Gongenzaka in general, which doesn't help with eventual apologies if he ever actually gets around to it.]

It's okay. [He waves his hand.] I think he understood.

[It still hurts, but Gon didn't have the impression that Toki hated him particularly when Yuya asked.]

That's good~!

[At least it doesn't seem like a huge rift that's affecting Yuya at all. He'll try again to have an actual conversation with Gongenzaka some day. Probably only when they happen to be in the same place at the same time; he's not ready to actually make an effort.]

If the mission goes well, we should plan something in Soleil after~! Something fun before finals! Are you going home for spring break?

Yeah! [A celebration in Soliel sounds ideal for the upcoming mission, especially since they'll both be part of it.

Then he shakes his head.] Since it's so short, I'll probably stay on campus for spring break.

I'm staying too~! I'm thinking of maybe going to Paris again for a couple days!

[With minimal museum visits.]

Oh, Paris! That'd be a lot of fun, and it's not too far away. We're really lucky the school has so much money we can do things like that, aren't we?

It makes up for all the terrible things~!
