So Yuya flops himself on the edge of the beanie couch, where Gongenzaka can still see and reach his phone as Yuya opens up the music app.] Let's start with finding your song. Um, most of what I bought is pop, is that okay...?

Once more, I really did not expect to do this good a job at keeping things secret from 'myself'- [That is far from the point, Marishi.
As it is, Gongenzaka nods.] Considering the focus will be finding a beat which I, the man Gongenzaka, can properly 'step' to, it should be fine. If anything... [Hmm. He considers it.] ...Variety may be the best option, within the choices you have...
It's hardly as if we'd be 'embarassed' by it, [Marishi adds, scoffing.] They'll probably consider it 'ancient song' or similar...

[He scrunches his face in thought before clicking into one of the albums and playing a dance track. It's peppy, and the beat repetitive enough, but also pretty fast and perhaps monotonous.] What about this one?

As we have been told however, 'Variety' IS the spice of life- whatever we play, it's probably best not to make it Too steady...
[Both she, AND Gongenzaka, are admittedly grimacing a bit at that though. It's a bit out of their comfort zone, but they're well aware that what's beyond the zone is...probably a bit necessary, here.]

Ooooh.... [Well, Marishi being the less strung of the two, she at least seems into it.] ...This could work....

[Admittedly Marishi figured they'd coast through cross country and show jumping, but anyway.] Hm. We shall listen to this one in full then, and move from there.

As the song closes up Yuya pushes himself from the couch and sets his phone on the edge of it. He spins around to face Gongenzaka, tapping his foot and swaying his tail.] Okay, so how flashy is this supposed to be? Ot is it like a marching band?

Mmmh. The latter, for the most part-as best as I, the man Gongenzaka, could determine from videos at the least.
[Marishi nods, breaking from the musical focus to speak with Yuuya.] The emphasis is on leg-work. Something such as a 'pirouette' for example is simply trotting in a tight circle. Side steps are also a unique matter...variations of speed, so on... So it's not 'flashy' exactly, though that does have a bit of influence...
Scoring appears to be one part 'technical', and another 'artistic'...

Yuya stops his own trotting and makes his way back to Gongenzaka's side, leaning over and waiting for him to display the screen. Their size difference is even greater, now, and Yuya can't just stand on his toes if he wants to see what he's looking at.] Is it going to be the whole song?

[Not a copy. If he wants to win the audience, he has to be himself! Anyway, Yuya watches in silence so he can get a good idea of what horse dancing actually is.]

He sits back down, making it a bit easier for both to study the video.] Hmmm...the trotting steps certainly would work well with that sort of lead in...it is a slow 'increase', after all...
[As long as they're applying beats to things, it seems easy enough to pick up and run with. That's the fortunate part, in any case.]

I'm not sure we can get away with particularly high jumps, but little 'hops' should be acceptable...

[Who's at what being the question, Yuuya can probably see for himself as the other two turn to look (with Gongenzaka turning a little...far, as unused to his flexibility as he is)-specifically, a now much larger, and more violet pooch is tugging grumpily at the vines of Gongenzaka's tail.]
